new beginnings

I understand the idea of Jetlag, but I am happy to say that I did not experience it whatsoever. Im experiencing JetJoy. I am too happy to be tired, or to worry about sleep. Everything is normal, and every part of me has adjusted to the U.K.

I have been enjoying learning all the phrases that are different her, like the "lift" (elevator), or referring to the bathroom as a "toilet".
Getting called "love", as a being hit on is much better than the U.S. I must say.

Monday morning we began classes.
We walked to-which is 2.2 miles-although it really doesnt seem to be that far.
We're all learning to be excellent English pedestrians!

you can tell by my curly bangs, I did not bring a straightener-I did buy a curling iron the next day.

(  welcome dinner out )
As a group we all went out to dinner with our professors-at a French restaurant (lol) It was very delicious. And we all got to know each other a little better!
after dinner, me Kendra and Christie went out into the rainy city to explore. It was such fun.

Hello London

I have been craving adventure for so long, and I am embarking on one of the greatest.
Destination: London, England.

This was the first time I had been on a plane since I was 5 years old, coming from Alaska to California. So, it's been a while. I can't even explain how excited I was boarding. I was quite giddy.
And while everyone put on their headphones, started their movies, I waited, sitting upright for liftoff. I remember loving it as a kid, and I could not wait to finally be up in the air.
8 hour flight-maybe an hour of sleep (thank you to the screaming children) I watched The Great Gatsby and Life of Pi, ate some pasta and my stash of Belvita bars.

Arrived at Heathrow Airport this morning around 11-I managed to go through everything quickly, surprisingly so since this was all new to me. Met up with the rest of my group, and were escorted to our accommodations.

Conway Hall, Waterloo.
Perfect location. loved loved loved.
Right next to the underground station and a plethora of buses, also next to Southbank, and a 5 minute walk to the London eye.
The place used to be a hospital for women and children, and it is quite lovely.

I kept saying "I can't believe Im here"
it hit me that I am indeed HERE when we crossed the bridge and saw this
it was inspiring.
made me realize, yes, I am in London, England. dream come true.

Tim and Celsea Maternity session

I was so excited to photograph these two! (three!)
Since these(only last week) Baby Eden has blessed the world with her presence. She is so incredibly beautiful, I can't wait to meet her!
Tim and Celsea were my high school youth group's worship team mentors (I played keys), and I got to watch as these sweet people fell in love and witness their wedding!
Ever since they announced the baby on the way I've been so excited to do this photoshoot! They are so easy to capture, with their sweet silliness and adoring love for each other as they look at each others eyes and giggled. They are going to be such great parents!

El Faro Orphanage

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." -Matthew 5:14

Loved today. Joined the Flood's Local Impact team and headed to the El Faro Orphanage in Tijuana. This was the second time going with these lovely people, this time we were in a smaller group and all fit in one van! It was a lot of fun to be able and get to know everyone more closely.

Got to love on some adorable children today:) Probably my favorite thing to do.
I didn't take that many pictures, I was too busy!
the ride home was about 3 hours, but it wasnt too bad! We held up a good conversation, all took a nap, then made a game that lasted until we crossed the border!
